ProSup Shop: Beach & Harbor Cleanup

Join Pro SUP Shop for a beach and marina clean-up on Sunday, April 21st at 9: a.m. in honor of Earth Day. This year's theme is: "Planet vs. Plastics" and the group will work together to keep beaches and waterways plastic-free.

Kids Beach Day Cleanup

Get pumped for an Earth Day extravaganza! The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors has teamed up with Heal the Bay for a Kids Beach Cleanup. It's FREE and loaded with fun—think a roaming tidepool, artsy crafts, and groovy beats by 3rd Rock Hip Hop. Head to the Dockweiler Youth Center in Playa del Rey for check-in and cleanup gear. Heal the Bay Presentation, April 28

Looking for a way to celebrate Earth Month and dive into some eco-action? On Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m., head to the Hermosa Beach Community Center for a FREE discussion panel on "Rising Tides: Exploring LA's Readiness for Sea Level Rise."

Guests will hear from experts on climate change, environmental policy, and community resilience. Speakers include Pulitzer Prize finalist and environmental reporter Rosanna Xia, Tracy Quinn, the CEO & President of Heal the Bay, and Warren Ontiveros, Chief of Planning Division at the County of Los Angeles Department of Beaches and Harbors.

Earth Day Community Habitat Restoration

Celebrate Earth Day by rolling up your sleeves to help the Friends of Ballona restore the last coastal wetland in Los Angeles. Get hands-on experience while learning about urban ecology. Help clear out invasive vegetation to give slow-growing native plants room to thrive.

Note: Registration is required. Suggested donation is $15. Activities are recommended for ages 7 and up. Youths 16 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Click button for more details.

Can't make this event? Join their Friday Habitat Restoration events on the first and third Friday of each month, along with other tours of the wetlands and a nature walk for photographers.

Clean Marine Program

Did you know that most of the marinas within Marina del Rey have been certified and welcomed into the Clean Marine program? That's right – many of the marinas and yacht clubs here have completed a special program and certification process to help teach their staff and boaters how to best take care of the environment. The Clean Marine program is an ongoing endeavor by a marine industry alliance determined to provide environmentally clean facilities and protect coastal and inland waters from pollution through compliance of best management practices.
