Marina del Rey is open and welcoming leisure travelers…but what does responsible travel to L.A.’s Marina look like?

Our hotels, restaurants and attractions are going above and beyond to follow industry reopening guidelines and ensure the safety of visitors and locals. Per the local health order, facial coverings and social distancing are required. Read below to see examples of responsible travel practices from local businesses.

HOTELS

Extensive cleaning and safety standards at hotels in the marina include thorough cleaning in high-traffic areas with increased frequency and recommended cleaning agents. Dedicated staff are going above and beyond protocols to sanitize surfaces in hotel lobbies, front desk check-in counters, valet stands and other high-traffic areas. Hotels have elevated their rigorous protocols to clean all surfaces in guest rooms with hospital-grade disinfectants including sanitizing guest keys.

Responsible Travel practices at Whiskey Reds

RESTAURANTS

UPDATE: As of November 25, restaurants are closed for outdoor dining per the updated safer-at-home order by Los Angeles County Public Health. Most of your favorite restaurants in Marina del Rey remain open for takeout and delivery.

Enhanced protocols at restaurants throughout the marina include seated tables separated by 6 feet, reduced dining capacity to meet government mandates, and sanitizing high-touch areas and surfaces throughout the restaurant. Staff are all required to wear face coverings while working and must wash hands frequently throughout each shift.

Some restaurants like Cast & Plow and Whiskey Red's offer contactless menus and pay-at-the-table devices. For any eateries that offered buffets pre-covid, plated a-la carte brunch dishes are now served.

In addition, most if not all restaurants in the marina offer contactless takeout and delivery options.

ATTRACTIONS

All watersports rentals are following LA County Public Health's reopening protocol for attractions on the water (ie, kayak, paddleboard, jet-ski) and off the water (ie, bike rentals).

Rental equipment such as paddle boards, paddles, kayaks, and life jackets are disinfected with a bleach solution between customer use. Highly trafficked area surfaces such as the check-in desk are cleaned frequently with a sanitizing wipe or disinfectant spray. Contactless reservations have also been implemented. Hand sanitation stations are available to customers.

Larger vessels such as jet-skis, duffy boats, power boats and sailboats are scrubbed down before and after customers throughout the day. Health screenings are conducted daily for employees, too.
